So it's been quite a number of days since my last post. I apologize to mom,my main reader.
It's been a little difficult to get things done on the computer since my laptop won't connect to the internet and I'm relying on the kindness of my roomates to use their computers.Which they've been amazing about. But I'll start off with saturday since that day stands out to me.
Our friends Lauren,Tim and Sunny came out to NY to visit last week. They had planned to take the bible tour at the met on saturday and let us tag along. I must say I am soooooooooo glad I went. I do like history but I tend to favor different time periods. But the tour we took was called "The Woman and the seed". It follows how Jehovah protected his seed over the years and showed different artifacts from those times. It also showed the development of different symbols such as the cross and how they were used in pagan worship throughout the world. We also learned more in depth information about different holidays we see celebrated today. There was no shortage of information and we all wanted to soak in as much as possible. I want to go a million times again to learn it all. I walked away from the tour with a deeper respect and awe for the Bible. The amount of prohecys and facts that are backed up by secluar knowledge and actual artifacts is amazing. I saw one of the containers that held one of the dead sea scrolls. I saw actual tiles that Daniel and the three Hebrew boys saw when they entered the city through the Ishtar gate. I wanted to cry I'm not even kidding. To see items from towns I've read about in the Bible was surreal. I could go on forever but no matter what faith your in or what your beliefs if you have any interest in the Bible or history you should take this tour.
Sunday was a pretty much normal day. We all went to meeting then went to get lunch after. We picked a pub at random but it wasn't very good. It took an hour just to get our fries out. Long story short we won't eat there again.
Monday I had planned to just do some more job hunting but my plans changed a little. For the better I might add. I have two friends who I know from San Diego who live here now. One is in the Brooklyn Bethel and the other one is going to Columbia right now. They called me up and said let's go have an adventure! So I said YES! Michael's lovely honda picked me up with them in it and we were off. I brought my camera and we headed in the northern direction. We were debating where to go till we settled on heading towards Rhode Island and possibly Boston. We stopped to have lunch in a cute town called New London. We found a quaint french cafe. It was very unique in that it was all organic or vegan and all the items on the menu were made from the produce availible that day. We had french lentil soup with a very good bread they made there.
From New London we drove on and made it to Providence around 4ish I believe. So we were losing light (for pictures) and decided we would have dinner there and make it to Boston another day. It was much colder than we anticipated and thus we walked/jogged from store to store.haha. I found a very lovely shoe store and dragged the boys in so I could buy much needed boots. They didn't complain because they were out of the cold.haha. We walked around quite (come to find out it was quite because of Martin Luther King day & most places were closed) cobble stone streets. The architecture was elaborate and had an air of a time very far from our own. The downtown had just enough of a city feeling without being overwhelming. We found some great book stores and I had to go into a store that was called craft land! It had lots of hand made items, silk screened art and all in a style I love. I wanted to buy the whole store. Alot of the items reminded me of something I'd see at Felt Club in Los Angeles. Felt Club is a indie craft festival that happens twice a year although the last one was canceled. Its all hand made crafts for the hipster crowd I guess. Anywho I found an adorable ring to add to my collection and the boys even found some items they bought. We had dinner across the street at a place called Tazza. It was kinda empty but that was nice. They had good music and nice lighting. We all had amazing meals. We shared some crab cakes that were out of control! I can't wait to try more seafood over here. This is the place to have it afterall. Overall it was a really lovely refreshing day. I got to know two good friends better and I was in 3 states in one day!

I can't wait to explore the east coast more. I'm stressing a little more now about finding a job because the month is flying by. But I know I'll find something. I really think I'd like to stay here for at least a year. If not in Brooklyn then somewhere on the east coast. I miss my family and friends a ton but talking to them makes it easier. I love everyone back home! until the next time.
